IV Immunoglobulins

IVIG is used to treat many different immune system disorders.  It can be used to balance an immune system, strengthen a weakened immune system or reduce activity in an overactive immune system.  IVIG is used to treat the following disorders: primary immunodeficiency, autoimmune thrombocytopenia, Kawasaki disease, hematopoietic stem cell or bone marrow transplantation, chronic B-cell lymphocytic leukemia, prevention of graft vs. host disease in transplant patients, and HIV-1 infection.  Other autoimmune disorders are treated with IVIG also, at the discretion of the physician.
